Mini-LED monitors handle dark scenes accurately?

Does mini-LED handle dark scenes accurately, meaning it will only darken what is suppose to darken in a scene of a movie or game and not darken the whole zone even if some stuff in the zone is not suppose to be darkened for a particular scene? The reason I ask this is because I understand the mini-LED screens is composed of several dimming zones.
