Japanese Drift Master players can now jump into multiplayer on Steam, bringing the game’s open world online for up to eight people at a time. Whether it’s drifting mountain roads, setting up races, cruising around the map or simply hanging out with friends, multiplayer is available today. Support for GOG and Epic Games Store is planned next while the console version remains in development. The update also adds some features aimed at making online sessions easier to navigate. Players are now assigned unique colors within each lobby, making communication and map markers easier to follow. A new ping system allows locations to be marked for everyone in the session, while quick text chat gives players a simple way to communicate through preset commands. The team has also addressed issues that appeared during multiplayer playtests. Tuning and Paint Shops can now be accessed without disconnecting from the session, allowing players to customize their cars while staying with the group. Hosts also have the option to enable Ghost Mode, which removes vehicle collisions and makes tandem drifting practice and group cruising much easier.
