EA Sports has shared new details on the game modes coming to UFC 6, with a bigger focus on storytelling, career progression and giving players more reasons to stay invested outside of fight night.
Leading the way is The Legacy, a new narrative prologue that follows Chris Carter’s rise to the UFC. The story spans several stages of his career, starting as a standout collegiate wrestler and eventually reaching the sport’s biggest stage. Along the way, players will deal with rivalries, outside pressures, family expectations and key decisions that help shape Carter’s path. The world around him reacts through commentary, social media and other interactions, making choices feel more connected to the story unfolding both inside and outside the cage.
Once that journey is complete, Career Mode takes over and puts players in control of their own path. They can continue Carter’s story, create a custom fighter or step into the shoes of an existing UFC fighter. EA says the mode features significantly more decision-making opportunities than UFC 5 with choices arriving through social media interactions, text messages and other events that can impact skill growth, fan support, earnings, hype, fitness and more.
Randomized risk-versus-reward moments also play a larger role this time around with dice-roll outcomes creating unexpected twists throughout a fighter’s career. Training camps have been expanded as well, rewarding players who build momentum and prepare effectively with meaningful gameplay benefits.
The experience is supported by a redesigned Career Hub and Weekly Agenda system that gives players a clearer picture of upcoming events, fighter progression, fitness levels and the factors that can influence future fights. Learn-a-Move replaces Invite-a-Fighter, offering a simpler way to add new techniques and expand a fighter’s arsenal. Players can still pursue some of the sport’s biggest achievements, including becoming a two-division champion and capturing the BMF title.
Another major addition is Hall of Legends, a new mode built around the stories of three UFC stars: Alex Pereira, Max Holloway and Zhang Weili. Each interactive hall explores the culture, history and defining moments that helped shape their careers. Players can walk through themed environments, watch videos, examine artifacts and learn more about the people behind the accomplishments.
The mode also recreates some of each fighter’s most memorable fights. Before stepping into the action, players get additional context surrounding the matchup, then jump directly into pivotal moments from the fight. Completing objectives tied to key strategies and turning points unlocks rewards that carry over into other parts of the game.
Outside of traditional competition, UFC 6 introduces a new Gym system that acts as a personal hub for collecting, training, coaching and customizing fighters. Players can recruit talent from across the roster, earn fighter-specific rewards and unlock cosmetic items. While the feature does not affect competitive gameplay, it offers another way for fans to build connections with their favorite athletes and personalize their experience.
Taken together, these additions show a clear effort to expand UFC 6 beyond what happens inside the Octagon. Between the new story-driven modes, deeper career progression, Hall of Legends, cross-platform play, accessibility improvements and other updates, EA is aiming to make the journey through the sport feel more personal from start to finish.
