BeamNG.drive Coming to PlayStation 5 Later This Year
Operation Sports - Dedicated to Sports Gaming [Unofficial]
May 29, 2026
BeamNG.drive is finally making the jump to PlayStation 5 later this year. The driving simulator first launched on Steam in 2015 and has spent the last decade building a loyal following on PC thanks to its detailed physics, realistic vehicle behavior and nearly endless opportunities for experimentation. Now, console players will finally get a chance to see what all the hype has been about.
Known for its realistic crashes and vehicle damage, BeamNG.drive goes far beyond simple destruction. Every vehicle is built from a complex network of parts that bend, flex, deform and break based on real-time physics calculations. Rather than relying on scripted animations, the game lets damage and handling develop naturally from thousands of interactions happening every second. The result is driving that feels unpredictable, believable and different every time you get behind the wheel.
That attention to detail means crashes are more than visual effects. Every impact affects the structure of the vehicle, whether it’s clipping a curb, bouncing across rough terrain or slamming into another object. No two wrecks play out exactly the same way, giving players plenty of opportunities to experiment and see how vehicles react under different conditions.
The game features an enormous selection of vehicles with around a thousand configurations available. Sports cars, muscle cars, SUVs, minivans, buses, taxis, rock crawlers, heavy equipment and plenty more are included. Players can also hook up trailers and interact with a wide range of objects, creating everything from realistic driving scenarios to complete chaos.
Customization is a major part of the experience. Players can make simple cosmetic changes or completely rebuild vehicles from the ground up by swapping engines, suspension setups, drivetrains, wheels, tires and performance parts. Advanced tuning options allow for adjustments to ride height, tire pressure, differentials, sway bars, shocks and more, giving each vehicle its own personality on the road or trail.
BeamNG.drive includes a dozen open-world environments ranging from coastal highways and mountain roads to deserts, industrial areas and suburban neighborhoods. Those looking for structured gameplay can jump into races, time trials, police pursuits and other challenges, while Freeroam mode offers complete freedom to explore with or without traffic.
