"textContent": "Milestone announced a free demo for Screamer today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game mixes fast arcade racing with combat-heavy mechanics, all wrapped inside a futuristic anime-inspired world that leans hard into dystopian street racing vibes.\n\nIt also has some notable names attached to it, including animation work from Polygon Pictures and contributions from Troy Baker. Alongside the demo, the full game is currently being offered at a 30% discount for a limited time across digital storefronts and retail.\n\nThe demo drops players into the opening six chapters of an underground street-racing tournament run by the mysterious Mr. A. Five different teams are competing, each carrying their own history and baggage into the event. Players start with access to the Downtown Run track and the Green Reapers team, a group of former military contractors trying to rebuild after everything around them started falling apart. Progressing through the tournament unlocks Lavinia from the Jupiter Stormers, along with two more tracks, The Port and Stadium Olympus.\n\nOutside of the story content, the demo also includes two multiplayer-focused modes that support local split-screen play. Race mode gives players more control over gameplay settings and tuning options, while Team Races shifts the focus toward cooperative competition where finishing position and knockouts both matter. That mode is also setting the stage for Ranked Team Races, which are scheduled to arrive on June 18 as part of the game’s online competitive setup.",
