Patch 3 for Pure Pool Pro is available today, adding a handful of changes aimed at online play, performance and overall presentation with the biggest addition being the new Ranked Game mode. What used to be Quick Game has now been rebuilt around competitive play, giving players global leaderboards across every online mode and separate rankings tied to each difficulty setting. There’s also an overall ranking for players who queue into any game type instead of sticking to just one mode.
The update also adds Lag for Break to supported multiplayer matches, bringing things a little closer to how real pool works. Both players now perform a lag attempt before the match starts with the player landing closest to the head rail winning the choice to break or hand it over. If both players foul or land in the same spot, the game resets for another attempt. It adds a little more skill and strategy right from the opening shot instead of leaving it to chance.
The team spent time cleaning up visual issues players had been calling out with reflections and shadow flickering. Ball shadows should now behave much more consistently, the glossy finish on the balls has been restored and overall movement across the table looks smoother during play. The patch also improves frame rate stability by cutting down on stutters tied to lighting and reflections, especially during breaks and busier moments in matches.
Competitive 9-Ball players get the proper Push Out rule with this update. After a legal break, the incoming player can choose a push out and the opponent then decides whether to take the shot or give it back. It’s a small addition, but one that adds another layer of strategy for players who take online matches seriously.
