"textContent": "Sony’s San Diego Studio has officially announced _MLB The Show Mobile_ , a new entry in the long-running baseball franchise designed specifically for mobile devices. The game is now open for pre-registration, offering players an early look at a more streamlined, competitive take on the series.\n\nUnlike its console counterparts, _MLB The Show Mobile_ blends traditional baseball gameplay with deck-building and card-based mechanics. Players will still control key moments on the field — pitching, hitting, base running, and defense — but the experience is built around shorter sessions and accessible controls tailored for mobile play.\n\nAt its core, the game still lets you control the action. Pitching, hitting, base running, and defense are all in your hands, with simplified controls designed to keep things moving. You’ll still be stealing bases, diving for catches, and turning double plays, but everything is built around shorter sessions. A new “Risk It?” feature lets you manually push runners for extra bases, while a Momentum system aims to make each inning feel more dynamic.\n\nAs with any card-collecting mode in a sports game, team-building is a major focus. The game will feature more than 900 collectible player cards, as in Diamond Dynasty on console, including both current MLB players and legends. Upgrades and attribute boosts will also play a big role, reinforcing that mix of strategy and gameplay.\n\nThere’s also a new Seasons mode, which uses a map-based progression system and shorter game formats, including three-inning games and one-inning challenges. If you’re looking for quicker competition, the game will feature best-of-three PvP matchups designed specifically for mobile play.\n\nPre-registration is live now, and players who sign up will receive a Diamond-tier Aaron Judge card at launch, along with additional rewards decided through community voting throughout May.\n\nThis is clearly a different direction for the franchise. It’s faster, more accessible, and much more focused on card progression than the console version. Whether that lands with longtime players is another question, but it’s obvious _MLB The Show_ is expanding.",
