The third April Spotlight update is now live in MLB The Show 26 , and it brings a mix of rising names and new Diamond cards into the spotlight. The headliner of the drop is Juan Borito (89 OVR). He actually earned his real-life call-up while playing The Show , and now he’s featured in the game with a Topps Now Diamond card.

Alongside Brito, the drop also features a Topps Now Gavin Sheets (90 OVR) card, rewarding his recent walk-off home run. To top it all off, it also features the Spotlight Series Jhoan Duran (91 OVR), giving players a strong bullpen option with two outlier pitches.

Much like previous Spotlight drops, these cards are tied to program progression. In simple words, you’ll need to complete moments, missions, and challenges to unlock everything. It’s a familiar grind, but it shouldn’t be that difficult if you have been keeping up with previous April content.

Unlike past programs, however, this one features an Extreme Moment that can net you 22 Stars if you have the patience for it. It involves hitting three home runs with Max Muncy on All-Star difficulty, so it won’t be a walk in the park. But it’s worth at least trying it to avoid the mission grind.

The cards have high ratings (89-91), making them solid additions for your Diamond Dynasty squads. Duran, in particular, stands out thanks to his pitching arsenal, while Sheets offers reliable power. Lastly, Borito is a more balanced option.

There is also the Spotlight 3 Pack, which includes the following players:

  • 89-rated Ronny Mauricio (3B, New York Mets)
  • 89-rated Jeffrey Springs (SP, Athletics)
  • 89-rated Jakob Marsee (CF, Miami Marlins)
  • 91-rated Willson Contreas (1B, Boston Red Sox)
  • 91-rated Angel Martinez (LF, Cleveland Guardians)

Of these cards, Contreas is always a viable righty option with good pop. Mauricio is also a very good fielder and a switch-hitter, so one could reasonably expect him to end up in a few lineups.
