Com2uS is kicking off the 2026 MLB season with a round of updates across its mobile baseball lineup, headlined by a new season update for MLB 9 Innings 26 and a rebrand of MLB Rivals to MLB 9 Innings Rivals 26. Both titles are available now on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The latest changes bring in new gameplay features, improved presentation and a mix of in-game events tied to Opening Day.
MLB 9 Innings 26 puts some attention on Paul Skenes, who joins as a new cover athlete alongside Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw. Starting April 1, Kershaw will also be available as a Supreme-type player through Historic Packs. On the gameplay side, a new Club Level system introduces mission-based progression to help players get comfortable with core mechanics. There are also new cinematic animations for moments like walk-offs, inning transitions and big plays to give things more of a broadcast-style feel.
To go along with the new season and the game’s 10th anniversary, Com2uS has several events lined up. The Opening Road Event runs through May 26 and lets players move across a reward board using currency earned through gameplay and logins with rewards that include Signature Players and a Diamond Team Selective Prime Player. Anyone who logs in by April 30 will receive a Season Opening Package that includes a Signature Player and a Black Diamond Change Ticket. Then starting May 6, the 10th Anniversary History Museum event runs through November 14, highlighting key moments from the game’s history with themed activities along the way.
With the shift to MLB 9 Innings Rivals 26, the update also brings a few notable gameplay additions. The Automated Ball Strike Challenge System lets pitchers, catchers or batters challenge umpire calls using tracking tech, similar to what’s starting to show up in real baseball. Support Content has also been added, giving players rewards based on how their favorite MLB team performs during the season, while Live Cards have seen stat boosts to better match real-world performance. Early progression has also been streamlined with a simplified Training system and improved onboarding, making it easier for new players to get going.
