"textContent": "Konami has released eBaseball: PRO SPIRIT as a free-to-play baseball title available now on PlayStation 5 and Steam. Players can build their own team and compete against others from around the world in real-time online matchups while chasing a championship. Teams are created within tournament cost caps and rules with a roster pool of 120 players available to choose from. The game does not feature real players or official teams and you can’t edit player names.\n\nThe game runs on Konami’s next-generation eBaseball Engine, designed to recreate the look, feel and sound of a live baseball game. Ball physics account for speed, weight and drag, while animations like catcher movements and pitch framing are built to reflect real mechanics. The system also tracks detailed data during gameplay, including pitch velocity, launch angle, runner times, fielding distance on fly balls and throwing distance on groundouts.\n\nPresentation is a major focus as well with stadium atmosphere reacting to the flow of the game. A dynamic energy system controls the reactions of spectators and players in the dugout depending on the moment. Stadium acoustics were recreated using impulse response measurements, while 3D audio helps deliver a more immersive ballpark soundscape.\n\nJapanese play-by-play is provided by Pro Spirits series regular Taisuke Mitsuhashi, while English commentary is handled by Josh Lewin, though English color commentary is not included. Players can also customize their teams and players with detailed options, including custom uniforms and caps, high school-style designs with kanji or vertical lettering, adjustable batting stances, pitching motions and more than 120 parameters that allow players to fine-tune a player’s appearance.\n\nCrossplay between the Steam and PlayStation 5 versions is not supported, and there is also no cross-save functionality between the two platforms. PlayStation 5 players will need an active PlayStation Plus subscription to compete in online matches, though exhibition games can still be played offline. At launch, players are not able to customize the control scheme, so the default controls must be used. Anyone jumping in will need to spend some time getting comfortable with the standard setup before heading into games.\n\n ",
