"textContent": "> **ā€œThere __is__ no corner to turn!ā€**\n\n😲\n\nSuch a simple, but profound observation, related to me by a client (thank you for letting me share šŸ’)\n\nA philosophy to live by, even.\n\nBecause, how much of our lives do we spend with this invisible belief driving all our behaviours?\n\n * Raising children… _it’ll be better when I’ve turned the corner._\n * Advancing through a career… _it’ll be better when I’ve turned the corner._\n * A financial situation… _it’ll be better when I’ve turned the corner._\n * Relationship difficulties… _it’ll be better when I’ve turned the corner._\n * Mental health issues… _it’ll be better when I’ve turned the corner._\n * Spiritual growth… _it’ll be better when I’ve turned the corner._\n\n\n\nWe’re _so_ focused—innocently, I must add—on tomorrow being better than today, that we don’t actually get to live life!\n\n⌚\n\nTomorrow is just a thought. It’s not actually a thing.\n\nYou don’t **_ever_** get to experience it. That’s just a trick of the mind; it’s ego, dangling ā€˜not this’ in front of you like a carrot on a string that you’ll never reach.\n\nIndeed, it’s this comparison with what-can-never-be (an idea of perfection) that keeps us miserable and stuck and makes reality appear—to the mind, at least—dull, when held up against this fantasy.\n\nIt’s a game you can’t win.\n\nSo next time you catch the mind wishing your life away, just remember: this is it. This is what I get.\n\nTHIS—right here, right now—is life!\n\nBy all means take action (you can’t not do, really) but do it from this place of understanding. It’s got a very different feel to it.\n\nThere _is_ no corner to turn.\n\nYou’re already there.\n\nšŸ’Ÿ\n\nGiles\n\nSIGN UP FOR THE DAILY REMINDERS newsletter\n\nWant to start __your__ days with helpful, insightful content like this?
