The thing vs. Your experience of the thing
Short and sweet today: 1 minute of pointing to the principles that underpin our experience of life.
Because what shows up for us in life (‘the thing’) is completely out of our control!
That's a bitter pill to swallow sometimes, especially when it comes to something like the death of a loved one.
Relief from suffering comes from seeing that there are no rules about how we should feel—for any circumstance!—but that there are principles that govern our experience of ‘the thing’.
It might seem like a subtle difference, but it's the key to having a totally different experience of life; one free from stress & anxiety, and full of ease, connection and peace of mind.
If you can see, insightfully (maybe from watching videos like this one), that ‘the thing’ (i.e. the circumstances we face) are not connected to our experience of the thing (i.e. what we actually get , moment to moment), ** however much it looks that way** , then you’re free.
