"textContent": "I was scanning through my ideas list and I found this little note to self:\n\n> _I should be having a bad day, and I think it’s important to note that I’m not._\n\nHa ha!\n\nThe previous night, after a bit of a bad day, full of perceived problems, I had indulged myself (rebelled!) by staying up really late, listening to music on headphones, lying in the dark, and consequently got _way_ too little sleep.\n\nIt was a bleary-eyed Giles that faced reality the next morning, and here's what I wrote, in my little list of ideas & observations I keep:\n\n> _I’ve got so much work to do it’s crackers.\n> I’ve got a full weekend’s cycling approaching and loads of prep to do for that.\n> And all the situations that yesterday were perceived as ā€œproblemsā€ have not gone away.\n> By rights, today should be NOT GOOD.\n> But I find my self to be largely care free.\n> (That could be called ā€œa quiet mind,ā€ although the reality is, it’s bursting with ideas!)\n> Yesterday’s problems don’t seem like such big problems any more.\n> I feel capable of handling whatever comes along, and given how sleep deprived I am, you’d think it would be the opposite.\n> Another nail in the coffin for the link between situations & how we feel.\n> IT’S ALMOST AS IF THEY’RE NOT CONNECTED!!!_\n\nšŸ˜†\n\n* * *\n\nOf course there are just as many times—maybe more!—when ā€˜I’ (i.e. the mind; G.E.C., or Giles Ego Construct šŸ“¦) think I should be having a _good_ day and I’m actually having a rubbish time of it.\n\nBut I’m less likely to be in the mood to sit down and write about that.\n\nSo you’ll just have to take it as a given that it happens a fair bit too.\n\nThis being human malarkey, eh?\n\nNobody’s immune.\n\nSeriously though, there's a very practical takeaway for you here:\n\nšŸ› ļø\n\nIt’s looking for these little ****inconsistencies**** (that are obvious, once you get an eye for them) that are going to make the biggest difference in your life.\n\nThat’s when insight comes and gently opens the curtain on reality for you to get the tiniest of little peeks… that changes everything for ever.\n\nšŸ’Ÿ\n\nGiles\n\nSIGN UP FOR THE DAILY REMINDERS newsletter\n\nWant to start __every__ day with helpful, insightful content like this?
