"textContent": "There's a really funny bit of an Eckhart Tolle recording, when, after a prolonged (verging on awkward) silence, he says:\n\n> _“Somebody once asked me,**‘Why do you wait for so long before you start speaking?’**\n> And the true answer of course, is, **‘Because I don't know what to say!’** ”_\n\n🤣\n\nIt seems so silly, that we should ‘know’ what to do all the time, but oh my word do we NOT like not knowing!! For us humans, it seems like the worst thing that could ever happen to us.\n\n> _“But I don't know what to do!!!”_ said every client I have ever worked with, at some point or another.\n\n(Me too, peeps, me too.)\n\nPeace of mind— _and_ the solutions we seek—come from getting comfortable with _not_ knowing.\n\n> _“And how do I do that, Giles?”_ I hear you ask.\n\nIt's remarkably straightforward, as I outline in this very, very short video clip:\n\n0:00\n\n/0:36\n\n1×\n\nLifted from the Decision-making Video Masterclass\n\nSee how crucial that is?\n\nIt's **_the mind_** that doesn't know, because in the big scheme of things (i.e. that scheme where you are an insignificant, minuscule dot in a Universe so vast you can't even _begin_ to comprehend its scale and you don't understand even the tiniest _fraction_ of how it works) the mind doesn't really know anything.\n\nIt _can't_ know!\n\nIt's not in control of things – it's just observing life unfolding before it, and laying down its personal DVD commentary track, making out like it's calling all the shots.\n\n_That's_ why it gets so antsy when faced with the unknown. It honestly believes that _it_ has to come up with solutions, bless it.\n\nWhy not be gentle with it?\n\nShow it some ‘self’-compassion – it's doing its best, after all.\n\nAnd before you know it, from this more relaxed, open state of mind, life will start offering you solutions.\n\n✨\n\nGiles",
