Portrait Night

It feels like it's been a while since I've done a proper portrait painting. Probably since the face-off thing a few weeks ago. It felt good to get back into the portrait groove. Our model tonight was the daughter of one of the painting group regulars, so she was pretty comfortable with the whole "sitting for a portrait" thing. That always helps. Some prior experience sitting makes for a much more relaxed model, which generally leads to a nice painting experience as well. Not that modeling for a portrait painting is easy - I always say I'm much happier on my side of the canvas than I would be on the other... -ZR
