Portrait Night

I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to get to portrait class - it’s been a while since I’ve been able to make it. Fortunately things worked out for me to do so, and I’m glad they did. It’s always shocking to me how easy it is to lose your ability to paint from life well. The longer you’re away from it, it seems the harder it can be to fall back into the rhythms. It seems That I wasn’t gone for too long, because while the first sketch (left) was a bit of a fight, the second one (right) went much easier. And who knows, maybe I’ll make it back next week and everything will just flow… unlikely, but it’s a fun dream. -ZR Various WIP and detail photos
