Melting Building in Paris
Glitched Earth
June 24, 2026
This picture may or may not be a metaphor for what's happening in France right now. Yesterday, records for the hottest day ever were broken across the country.
I heard that it was 44°C in southwestern France, not far from where I'm from.
However, this picture was taken on Avenue Georges V in Paris (a long time ago, circa 2009), and I have a feeling that the residents of this building are not actually melting. For those unfamiliar with Paris, this street and the surrounding neighborhood are home to some of the most expensive hotels and some of the wealthiest individuals.
