Three years into Sudan's war, women and girls suffer explosion in violence

GENEVA (AN) — The war in Sudan is entering its fourth year with nearly two-thirds of the population in need of aid, as United Nations officials warned the conflict has created the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.
Speaking ahead of a donor conference in Berlin, U.N. agencies said on Tuesday that nearly 34 million people, or 64% of Sudan's 53 million inhabitants, now require humanitarian assistance, with hunger, displacement and violence continuing to worsen across the country.
