Strikes on Iran derail nuclear track as U.S. takes U.N. council presidency

Coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets threw planned nuclear talks in Vienna into doubt, just hours before Washington assumes the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council for March.
The military operation, launched on Saturday, follows three rounds of indirect negotiations in Geneva mediated by Oman. Those talks adjourned this week with plans for technical-level discussions at the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency beginning early next week.
