"textContent": "This is my report on activities of the [Mozilla Foundation][Mozilla] for the week ending January 12, 2007, as well as for the previous week ending January 5.\n\nProjects for the week\n\nHere’s a partial listing of what I and others at the Foundation did these past two weeks:\n\n- Grants and related activities. I’m pleased to announce that the Mozilla Foundation will be making a grant to the [Adaptive Technology Resource Centre][atrc] of the University of Toronto, to help support development of accessibility enhancements to the popular [Dojo toolkit][].\n\n For updates on other work the Foundation is funding, check out Alexander Surkov’s [progress report][] on improving XForms accessibility, the improvements to the [XUL Accessibility Guidelines][] being created by the folks at [WebAIM][], and Charles Chen’s work on creating [test cases for accessibility of AJAX applications][test cases].\n\n Next action(s): More grant proposals to consider.\n\n- CA certificates. Beginning in February Gerv Markham will be spending some time helping me reduce the large backlog of requests from CAs wishing to have their root certificates included in Mozilla-based products\n\n Next action(s): With Gerv’s help I’ll be creating an authoritative list of all current CA requests, to be published either at [the current URL][] or somewhere else. (I’d really like to move to a wiki-based site if restrictions on page modifications can be put in place for CA certificate data and other CA-related information.)\n\nUpcoming activities\n\n- I’ll be taking some time off (most likely in February) for moving into a new house.\n- Gerv will be attending Mozilla-related activities at the FOSDEM conference in Amsterdam February 24--25.\n- I’ll be attending at least a couple days of the CSUN accessibility conference in Los Angeles March 19--24.\n\nRandom notes\n\nAfter years of resisting the trend, I’ve finally reconfigured my [personal web site][] so that it’s accessed as just plain “hecker.org” instead of “www.hecker.org.” (I’ve also done this with a [hobby blog][] I occasionally work on.) I’ve set up redirection so that all existing URLs should work properly, including access to feeds; however if you want to reconfigure your feed reader to use the new URLs please feel free to do so.\n\n[atrc]: http://www.utoronto.ca/atrc/\n[Dojo toolkit]: http://dojotoolkit.org/\n[progress report]: http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.dev.accessibility/msg/27320c0ef0c7b7a8\n[WebAIM]: http://www.webaim.org/\n[XUL Accessibility Guidelines]: http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/XUL_accessibility_guidelines\n[test cases]: http://accessibleajax.clcworld.net/\n[the current URL]: /mozilla/ca-certificate-list\n[personal web site]: /\n[hobby blog]: http://swindleeeee.com/\n[Mozilla]: http://www.mozillafoundation.org/",
