Actually, let's have it have a title.
Do I need to make an account? Many of us are accustomed to creating new accounts for every new platform we encounter. On pckt.blog, the experience is different. You may already have an exiting account that is compatible with pckt and not even know it! Did you come here from Bluesky? Great! You have an account on pckt.blog. Just use your Bluesky username. We are one of many applications built within an open ecosystem called the Atmosphere. Accounts that are created within the Atmosphere are compatible across the atmosphere. Just like a Bluesky account can be used to sign in to pckt, an account created on pckt.blog can be used to sign in to Bluesky.
to sign in to Bluesky using a pckt account, visit the Bluesky login page and change the Hosting Provider from Bluesky to https://pds.pckt.cafe now you will be able to sign in using your pckt handle which looks something like: your-name.pckt.cafe In the Atmosphere, usernames look different than you may be used to. Instead of the typical @username format, in the Atmosphere, a username additionally shows where your account data is parked.
Anatomy of an Atmosphere account.
- The first part of the username looks the same: @username
- The second part of the username shows where the account lives and who manages your data: .pckt.cafe or .bsky.app, or another location.
- Together, the username will look like: @username.pckt.cafe If you created your account on Bluesky, your username will look like @username.bsky.app and if your account was created on pckt.blog, your username will look like @username.pckt.cafe.
