Winique “Willie” Orelus found sanctuary in the United States after leaving Haiti to pursue better opportunities. After working as a dishwasher and contractor for years, he finally started his own business in November 2025 when he opened Little Haiti Caribbean, a restaurant in Jackson offering dishes native to his home country.
