Russian women have increasingly taken the lead in organizing and financing travel over the past five years, according to new research from the travel service Tutu. Analysts found that women now book and pay for trips more frequently than men, both for solo vacations and joint travel with partners.
Women Account for Most Travel Bookings in Russia
The study examined bookings for flights, train tickets, and bus travel. Researchers discovered that women accounted for 52 percent of all travel purchases.
Women also spent more on average than men, particularly when booking airline tickets. Men, however, showed higher spending levels in the bus travel segment.
