Putin Goes to Global Diplomatic Hub to Redefine Strategic Partnership with World's Third Largest Nation

Russian President Vladimir Putin will begin a two-day state visit to China on May 19, with energy cooperation and long-term strategic coordination expected to dominate discussions in Beijing. The Kremlin said the visit takes place at the invitation of the Chinese leadership and marks the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and China. The year 2026 also marks 30 years since the establishment of the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership framework.
