Nilay has said repeatedly that if The Verge were starting today it would put up a Bluesky server. Recently, Surf.social launced social web feeds with The Verge as a launch partner. I am glad to see these steps from you all, as you understand the necessity of agency over your distribution. Agency that the platforms do not want to give away. \n\nNilay has also teased that more protocol-based social and publishing features may be coming to theverge.com as soon as this year. As The Verge product team has been building, the atproto ecosystem has also advanced quickly to make building socially connected websites easier than ever. \n\nI would love to know what the product team at The Verge and Vox Media at large has been up to. What can we expect to see in the coming months and years in the realm of publishing and community engagement over protocols? The Verge is particularly well positioned to lead the industry in this area. I can't wait to see what you all have been working on.\n\nRock 'n roll\n@[handle]"
