  "textContent": "### In 2025, we found 11 hectares of burned land, scorched by that year’s Summer fires. On April 30th of this year, we signed a promissory contract to purchase it.\n\n### Our goal: to turn scarred ground into an abundant demonstration site and living classroom.\n\n### Why are we doing this?\n\n\n**For one, we want to disrupt the ‘normalisation’ of drought-fire-flood spirals by demonstrating how small-scale restoration can ripple outward—regionally, nationally, and even continentally.**\n\n**Second, we want to co-create healthy, joyful, and powerful ways of living and working,_and set an example_. This ensures two things:**\n\n  1. **Freedom from market dynamics and speculation._Miracle Project_ ’s lands and (future) buildings cannot be treated as things to be exploited or sold for financial profit.**\n  2. **Mission-aligned use and stewardship. Instead of possessing real estate, we care for it.**\n\n\n\n**Why?**\n\nWe’ve come to find the idea of owning parts of the Earth _and selling them to each other_ rather odd (and that’s putting it mildly). The Earth shouldn’t belong to anyone; it should be cared for.\n\nBy acquiring real estate and placing it under a foundation that keeps it off the market, we ensure it won’t fall prey to greedy hands when we’re gone.\n\n\nAnd that it won’t fall prey to _our_ greediness.\n\n\nIn Homer’s story _The Odyssey_ , Odysseus learned of the Sirens whose songs had lured many a captain to their doom. Wanting to hear what all the fuss was about, he had himself bound to the mast and his crew plug their ears with wax. All the captains before him had been sure they’d resist; none of them did.\n\nOdysseus accepted his vulnerability, protected himself and his crew, and sailed past unscathed, fully able to enjoy the beauty of the Sirens’ call.
