  "textContent": "### 🌄 This spring, we’re kicking off _Ash2Soil_ , a year-long collaborative project with one goal:\n\n### inspiring communities to transform fire-affected landscapes into resilient ecosystems.\n\n💡\n\n****Participation is free of charge—read on for a project summary, event details, and to register****\n\n## Project Summary\n\n  * **Four seasonal community gatherings,** bringing together science, field practice, culture, and art to transform fire-affected landscapes into resilient ecosystems.\n  * **For anyone** **seeking to broaden knowledge and skills** for the co-creation of lush ecosystems that prevent fire, mitigate floods, and build both natural and social resilience\n  * **No experience required;** all you need to bring is an open heart and mind—**be welcome!**\n\n\n\n\n## What will participation bring you?\n\n  * **A shift in mindset** —busting myths that can keep us stuck in (invisible) degradation loops, and embodying natural, abundance-increasing patterns.\n  * **Micro-level understanding** — getting to grips with the elemental importance of a living soil food web.\n  * **Adaptive knowledge and practical skills** — mitigating drought–flood–fire risks, working for water, (inter)planting, mulching, irrigating and managing.\n  * **Empowerment and connection** — because no one is as smart as everyone, and together we’re much better at being the change we wish to see.\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n## 1st Spring Event — Awakening the Soil\n\n### **21st & 22nd of March 2026**\n\n###\nOn the menu:\n\n**🔬 An introduction to the importance of soil,** with information on physical and chemical properties, soil health, and the fundamental role of microorganisms.\n\n**🌳 An introduction to Syntropic Agroforestry, with hands-on practice,** planting food trees, resistant shrubs, and ground cover.\n\n🪵 **Hands-on practice building a water retention structure** — a ‘beaver dam analogue’ — to stop erosion in a burned pine forest and recharge the underground aquifer.\n\n🎨 **Artistic expression** through monotype printing, with the aim of embodying the transformation of landscapes.\n\n* * *\n\n## Your hosts and teachers\n\n  * ** _SoilTribes_** — establishing, activating, and empowering glocal ecosystems to restore soil values, roles, and connectivity through science, technology, and creative expression. — SoilTribes.eu\n  * ** _EcoAtivo_** — environmental association in the Cova da Beira region of Central Portugal — EcoAtivo.pt\n  *  _**Prout Research Institute Portugal** _— __ citizen-led movement for a fairer, more sustainable, diverse, and dynamic society — Prip.pt\n  * ** _Food4Sustainability_** — not-for-profit association dedicated to innovation in sustainable food production — Food4Sustainability.org\n  *  _**Artivos** —****_ promotes social and holistic development of individuals and communities through art — Artivos.org\n  *  _**Miracle Project** - _reviving ecosystems, reinventing community, and building living models for a thriving planet — MiracleProject.earth\n\n\n\n\n* * *\n\n## Details and registration\n\n💡\n\n****This event takes place over two days.
