She'd get smaller parts on TV shows like Inside Amy Schumer , Veep and Broad City. In 2016, she got the part that would change her life: Janet, the all-knowing, omnipotent, unfailingly cheerful assistant on The Good Place. The show was a hit – millions of viewers, 14 Emmy nominations, including one for D'Arcy. While The Good Place was going strong, D'Arcy started appearing on another critically acclaimed hit TV show: Barry. That show was created by and co-stars Bill Hader. These days, you can see her star in Hulu's Sunny Nights alongside another SNL alum Will Forte. When D'Arcy joined us she was starring in a television reboot of A League of Their Own. She talked about reuniting with her comedy partner Abbi Jacobson. She also got into being a nanny for Bill Hader and the time she co-starred in an episode of Comedy Bang! Bang! with Jesse. Yes, your host Jesse Thorn. A version of this interview aired in August of 2022.
