Joe Cappa, Creator of “Haha, You Clowns”

Like many Adult Swim shows, it features a very distinct style of animation. Every character is a little grotesque, uneven, and most importantly, the buffest cartoon characters you’ve ever seen. However, underneath the somewhat disconcerting visuals is a wholesome and sweet show. It follows three huge brothers, The Campbell Boys, who live with their widowed father, an equally huge weather man. Together they navigate life challenges with the help of family and community. This is Joe Cappa’s first show. Even more impressively, this is his first job in show business. Cappa joins Bullseye to talk about his fascination with comedically buff characters, learning animation while working at an ad agency in Oklahoma, and borrowing from his real life to create Haha, You Clowns.
