"textContent": "Edinburgh doesn't have the greatest track record when it comes to building public concert halls; such projects usually involving endless (or even terminal) delays. Even the grand old lady of the Usher Hall is no exception, taking almost eighteen years to resolve wrangling over potential sites and for plans to come to fruition. A lesser told chapter in that story is that in order to make way for this new City Hall, a relatively new and by all accounts very successful public school had to be demolished and relocated to the site of a slaughterhouse: Lothian Road Public School. This conferred the unflattering honour upon it of the shortest-lived School Board-era school in the city. This thread celebrates its brief thirty year life, almost half of which was spent with the threat of the Usher Hall dangling over its head.",
