If your assistance is needed

Drew had placed a final semicolon on the line. Clicked save. Created a new pr, and was now watching the workflows run. It would be an hour or so before they completed running. So Drew stood up from his desk, and began to stretch. The shutters on the windows were already down, and he could tell it was already dark outside. Everyone had already cleared out. The office was quiet, only his cubicle was illuminated.

He remembered when he joined Mountain Tech, it had been over a decade ago. Recruited for all the know how and skill he demonstrated, praised for his ability to bring diabolical architectures to life. He was young back then, hungry to be something. And he had become one of the most valuable assets at Mountain Tech, all revered for the things he built and helped build. He could remember that one time he crashed out at the lobby after staying up for a week debugging some transitive bug.He could remember Jim, Gordon, Yuzi, Elaine and Larry. There were also the tales, some sounded like those of legendary escapades done by valiant heroes, stories to tell over a fire in the woods at night. Friendships built during wartime, that were now going to last forever.

But the chorus began to fade, long nights began to not happen as much, there were less and less faces to talk with, until eventually he was an artifact left behind after everyone had moved on. The troll on an old bridge when a new stronger troll-less bridge was getting built nearby.

But his therapist told him not to be negative all the time. So, perhaps, it had now finally come. Time for the hero to lay down his sword, time for the bards to go through the lands and tell of what once was. He had held on long enough. It was time. His friends had also laid down their tools, some as soon as it was done, some not so long ago.

Drew's phone chimed with a notification.

"Detected several bugs, and vulnerabilities. Already fixed and rerun the workflow. Will let you know if your assistance is needed".
