  "textContent": "That day, I received this email.\n\n> 19 May 2026 (1:19 PM): We would also like to invite you to a special mapathon as part of the OpenStreetMap Community Building activities in Syria. This activity aims to train participants on using the OpenStreetMap platform and contributing to mapping buildings and roads to support humanitarian work in Syria. Date: 22 May 2026. Time: 11:00 AM (Syria Time). Location: Online (meeting link will be sent after registration).\n\n11:00 AM Syria time is about 3:00 PM in UTC+7.\n\nSo, this afternoon, I attended the online meeting.\n\nAfter that, I joined the mapathon hosted on the HOT Tasking Manager.\n\nEven though, in the presentation, the speaker conducted the mapathon using the iD editor in the browser, this time I preferred to use my set of “powertools”: JOSM, Draw Buildings (B), and LastUpdated.\n\nOh, finally, LastUpdated now properly shows the icon image. The last time I uploaded that image, the previous default icon got stuck in my JOSM cache. Back then, I didn’t know how to clear the cache. It seems now the cache had already expired. Alright, it looks good. I like it.\n\n* * *\n\nSo, this time, I joined the mapathon with a slightly different workflow.\n\nI personally collected “interesting coordinates” that I found while mapping on Altilunium LocationPad. I also collected interesting satellite imagery that I found along the way. In addition, I did some extensive OSINT research to find traces of information about specific locations on the internet, so I could gain more context about what I was mapping.\n\nThen, I encountered a hurdle.\n\nHow do I store long information about places?\n\nAltilunium LocationPad currently only supports storing three kinds of information at once: the coordinate, the place label, and the coordinate.\n\nI needed it to store long paragraphs about a place too.\n\nSo, I decided to add such a feature.\n\nThis feature has already shipped in Altilunium LocationPad v26.5.22.",
