Don't forget to pack...

What's on your packing list? Phone charger/cords? Voltage/plug adapter? Copies of your passport?
What you pack depends on where you're going, because you don't need a wool sweater to visit Delhi in July, or sunscreen for Antalya in November.
Some places need a visa, and some places require vaccinations. But I've learned there are some things that must always go with you when you go from here to there.
humility
I’ve been privileged to grow up in Canada, where, for the most part, the infrastructure is good (roads, internet, ease of mobility).
I know how to navigate the various cultural nuances/quirks of life in Canada.
I’m pretty confident in Canada, but outside of Canada—not so much.
I don’t understand how things work in other places, and it’s not my job to “Canadian-ize” them. People do things differently than what I'm used to doing, and I'm the guest in their home.
patience
Travel has a way of revealing how patient you are. Navigating the airport, standing in lines, and handling unexpected delays all require patience.
Trying to get directions or order a meal in a language you're not fluent in? Figuring out how to queue for tickets or a seat on the bus? I hope you packed your patience.
kindness
In Canada or abroad, you'll never regret being kind to others. Don't bully your way through your visit (you might be mistaken for an American!) and don't forget to smile. If the culture expects a gratuity, don't be cheap. If someone helps you find directions, thank them with a smile. Give up your seat to elders and moms with small kids. Kindness translates into every language, so don't forget to bring it with you.
what else would you recommend for your packing list?
