40,000 UC workers threaten statewide strike across hospitals, campuses, dining halls

Members of AFSCME Local 3299, a union that represents more than 40,000 workers across University of California hospitals and campuses, said they would launch an open-ended strike next month unless they come to an agreement for a new contract.
