"textContent": "\n\n\n\nNo, you can grab it to try it out. And we don’t recommend trying to steal it to shoot your short film this weekend at that cabin in the woods. However, if you’re a fan of Christopher Nolan, the IMAX format, or just cameras in general, this is something cool worth checking out.\n\nCurrently on display at IMAX headquarters, the IMAX camera, which Christopher Nolan helped design and used to shoot his upcoming epic __The Odyssey__ , is likely going to be an important camera in film history for years to come.\n\nAs we’ve covered a bit in the past, let’s take a quick look at this camera, dubbed the “Keighley,” and explore why it might be worth the trip to check out in person.\n\n* * *\n\n### The IMAX Keighley on Display\n\n\n\n\n> First, if you haven’t read up on the mind-boggling engineering that goes into IMAX 15/70mm projectors, you absolutely should. And this new camera, dubbed the Keighley, is likely going to be one of the most famous cameras in IMAX, if not film history. At least if the upcoming film __The Odyssey__ is as big a hit as it’s projected to be.\n\nCo-developed with Christopher Nolan specifically so that the director could be the first ever to shoot a feature film entirely in the IMAX format, the IMAX Keighley is a love letter to David Keighley, the company’s first Chief Quality Officer and a champion of bringing the format to the masses.\n\nAnd, as you might expect, the IMAX Keighley is both larger-than-life both in real life and in what it’s set to display on the biggest screens in the world with this upcoming release. If you want to check out the camera, not the film itself just yet, you can, as it’s now on display at IMAX HQs, according to X user @ErikDavis, who has shared some interesting looks at the camera on display.\n\n### The Odyssey Behind The Odyssey\n\n\n\n\nWhile we’ve covered it before, it's really cool to see Christopher Nolan continue his championing of the IMAX format and his dedication to bringing the largest images possible to film audiences worldwide.\n\n__The Odyssey__ is the first feature film to be shot entirely on IMAX cameras, and this Keighley camera creates a physical image nearly 10 times the size of what you’d traditionally find in 35mm film. It’s also reportedly 30% quieter than previous IMAX cameras, making it lighter and easier to use on set than ever before.\n\nAnd while it’s nice to see it on display, it will be even nicer still when the Keighley is passed on to the next filmmakers to use for their large-format projects here soon.",
