"textContent": "\n\n\n\nIn another example of why you don’t always want to update your cameras to the latest software right away, ARRI has introduced a new Software Update Package (6.0.2), which is mostly here to fix some minor issues likely caused by the last SUP (6.0.0).\n\nApparently, there was a bug that could occur when the camera side display was used to change the sensitivity, and this new update fixes this issue. These things happen, so if you were one of the few ARRI ALEXA 35 owners who had this update, then this new one might be worth installing to fix any potential issues.\n\nHere’s what you need to know to download and install.\n\n* * *\n\n### ARRI Software Update Package 6.0.2\n\n\n\n\nAs mentioned above, this SUP 6.0.2 update is just for ARRI ALEXA 35, ALEXA 35 Xtreme, and ALEXA 35 live cameras and really just fixes one issue that could potentially occur when the camera side display was used to change the sensitivity. Once recording was started with the issue, the camera could revert to the previous El setting made from the MVF-2, the Camera Companion App, or the Web Remote.\n\nPlus, because sensitivity in these cameras is baked into Apple ProRes recordings, an unexpected change could obviously affect your image quality, especially when a significant EI shift could result in underexposure and increased noise during color correction.\n\nARRI shares that while this was less critical for ARRIRAW or ARRICORE, where these incorrect values could only affect monitoring and metadata, the issue could still potentially cause confusion for users when automated dailies were generated using an incorrect EI setting.\n\nAll this said, this new SUP 6.0.2 update fixes any of these issues, and it's available to download today.\n\n### How to Download and Install\n\n\n\n\nARRI shares that this update, as with all other updates, can easily be installed on ALEXA 35 Xtreme, ALEXA 35, and ALEXA 35 Live cameras, and that the company recommends updating from any previous ALEXA 35 SUP.\n\nIf your camera is still running a SUP version earlier than 6.0.0, ARRI does not recommend installing a new SUP during an active production. However, if SUP 6.0.0 is already installed, the camera should be updated to SUP 6.0.2 to resolve this issue.\n\nYou can find more info on how to download and install for your specific camera on the company’s website here.",
