A fun, new, and innovative laptop is here, designed specifically for hybrid creatives working in design, photo, and video spaces.

However, while there’s a lot to like about the new Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition laptop with its 16” OLED touchscreen, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Graphics, Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 3 CPU, and plenty of RAM and storage options, does it have enough to take on Apple’s stronghold of the creative market?

Let’s take a look at this new Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition laptop and explore what it can offer with its capable specs, clever design quirks, and overall solid performance.

The Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition Laptop

So, the most interesting part of this new Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition laptop might simply be its very noticeable 16” PureSight Pro OLED touchscreen, which features a 2880 x 1800 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a 120 Hz variable refresh rate.

The screen also supports multi-touch and features 500 nits of typical brightness, which can peak at 1100 nits when needed. The touchscreen is also DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certified, which enables it to support HDR content.

As far as specs and performance go, the Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition laptop is pretty comparable to many top Apple MacBook options, featuring a 2.1 GHz Intel Core Ultra 9 386H 16-Core processor, 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD.

Intel Performance, NVIDIA Graphics, and Other Perks

Overall, the Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition laptop offers solid specs that rival many of the best laptops on the market for hybrid creatives. The Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor features four performance cores, eight efficient cores, and four low-power efficient cores, for a total of 16 cores, making it capable of handling complex 3D performance hybrid architectures.

The dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 laptop graphics card can further deliver the performance editors need for high-end frame rates and high-res visuals. The laptop can also switch between battery-saving and high-performance modes, with the latter used to max out its Dynamic Boost.

What’s also unique about the Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition laptop is that it features a built-in smart sensor that lets its Force Pad transform into a touchpad for those looking to draw designs. The laptop comes with a Yoga Pen Gen 2, powered by Wacom technology.

Price and Availability

At the end of the day, though, despite some clever tricks and helpful features, it’s hard to say if the Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition laptop would ever likely rival Apple’s stronghold on creative laptops in any meaningful way.

Despite its powerful specs and fun design choices, it’s also quite expensive and wouldn’t be a cheaper option for many creatives. Apple released a $1,099 MacBook Neo, which is likely going to be insanely popular for those just starting off in their creative careers, and while this Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition laptop might be a nice higher-end challenger, it doesn’t have much to make a jump for many.
