Antigravity A1 Gets Voice Assistant, Timelapses, and Better Obstacle Avoidance With Latest Update
With DJI still as deep in its drone ban era as it‘s ever been, the market for quality aerial camera drones has never been more wide open. One of the few brands to step into this space in the past year has been Antigravity, with its flagship A1 drone.
And, for those interested in new drones, or at least more options in the United States, the good news is that this drone keeps improving as the company has released its “Big Spring” update, which adds several new features and performance boosts.
Here’s what you need to know.
Antigravity A1 Drone Spring Update
So, this Big Spring Update, as the company is calling it, adds some major improvements to the drone’s flight experience, its safety systems, and further updates to its creative control. The big highlights here are the inclusion of a new Voice Assistant, Time-lapse, improved Auto Edit capabilities, and an all-new Omnidirectional Obstacle Avoidance system.
On top of these enhancements, Antigravity has also announced an expansion of the A1’s availability as it will now be sold in Mexico. As far as improvements for the rest of the world go, though, the Auto Edit update might be one of the more unique improvements as it’s been optimized for richer visuals and stronger storytelling thanks to better AI logic and understanding.
The goal here is to let users, who might not have as advanced an editing know-how, use a wide range of shots and camera movements, and even add AI-generated sound effects to bring more visual depth and energy to the edits.
Voice Assistant and Obstacle Avoidance
The other big update here is the addition of a new Voice Assistant feature that adds a new layer to the A1's FreeMotion controls and makes drone flight easier overall, especially for beginners.
With this voice assistant feature, users can use functions like Sky Genie, Deep Track, and Return to Home by simply saying the corresponding phrase commands.
The Antigravity A1 is also getting some improvements in safety and operability thanks to its new Omnidirectional Obstacle Avoidance system, which combines the drone’s 360 sensing with its existing vision sensors for a new level of all-around environmental awareness.
Price and Availability
Overall, along with a new Time-lapse photography mode and even a helpful third-person perspective mode available in the virtual cockpit, this is another solid update for one of the few drones flying in the United States these days.
Until this DJI drone ban is resolved, if ever, the Antigravity A1 is one of the top options both by default and by being, you know, a solid drone to check out. If you’re curious, here are the specs and purchase options.
