If you’re looking to get the most out of your current or prospective purchase of the Insta360 Flow 2 or Flow 2 Pro series of handheld gimbals, then you’re likely going to want to check out this latest update, as it’s set to add quite a few compatibility enhancements, new features, and improved performance.

The big news here is that Insta360 is finally able to address some long-standing limitations on Android devices, particularly issues with lens access. The update is also set to bring native multi-lens support to many popular Android smartphones, like the Samsung S26 Ultra.

Apple iPhone users are also getting improvements and new features, such as Dual View Mode and Apple Watch Control. Here’s everything you need to know about these Insta360 Flow 2 Series handheld gimbal updates.

Insta360 Flow 2 Series Updates

Announced last summer, the Insta360 Flow 2 is a popular handheld gimbal series that brings AI-powered tools to content creators and smartphone filmmakers across both iPhone and Android devices. This latest update is pretty focused on quality-of-use improvements, including ways to make filmmaking and video content shooting more hands-free and to make cinematic shooting more accessible.

Some of the biggest news here is native lens support for Android and iOS devices, as users will now be able to use a Flow 2 series gimbal with the Insta360 app to access the ultra-wide and telephoto lenses on supported flagship Android phones, including devices from Samsung, Google Pixel, vivo, OPPO, and more.

Overall, this should help shooters deliver full-resolution output that matches the phone's native camera performance. From there, shooters can gain access to pro-grade results in dynamic shooting scenarios, from wide scenic shots to detailed close-ups.

Faster 360 Panoramas and New Capture Modes

Along with these native lens support updates, the Flow 2 gimbals will also get even better with 360 Panorama 2.0, a new way for shooters to generate seamless 360 ° stitched panoramas 50% more quickly.

Users can now select any angle to save as a standard photo, or create an interactive preview link to share directly on TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms, with viewers able to pan, tilt, and apply effects.

The new Dual View Mode is pretty neat too, as it lets users capture more content without additional gear by recording simultaneously with the front and rear cameras, or with dual rear cameras, generating up to three independent clips in a single take.

Price and Availability

This update adds quite a bit, including Apple Watch Control and some other new features like an AI Tracker, Smartphone Remote Control, Multi-Person Tracking, and Active Zoom Tracking controls too.
