"textContent": "\n\n\n\nWhile there were many narratives from this year’s NAB conference in Las Vegas, one of the biggest was the news that ARRI was acquired by Thomas Riedel and the Riedel Group.\n\nAnnounced just a few days before NAB 2026 began, the news has the potential to be one of the biggest stories in camera and film history as one of the most legendary brands of all time changes hands and could be in for some major changes.\n\nIt could also be, hopefully, not too major, as the Riedel Group could simply help prop up a legacy brand that could use some support, while still largely letting it keep operating as it has more or less for the past century.\n\nOnly time will tell, though, but for now, we do have news to share on ARRI’s latest non-acquisition announcement as the company has introduced some notable new updates for its ALEXA 35 Live camera and its Live Production System LPS-1.\n\n* * *\n\n### ARRI Live Camera and Production System Updates\n\n\n\n\nAnnounced last week, ARRI is introducing new software updates for its ALEXA 35 Live camera and Live Production System LPS-1 that aim to \"significantly enhance” the functionality and ease of integration of the ARRI Multicam System.\n\nThe big news here, too, is that these new features are being introduced to enable ALEXA 35 SUP 6.0 and LPS-1 SUP 1.3, which will be used at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest coming up this May.\n\n(For those who live in the US, Eurovision is a huge song competition and show that is a big deal in pretty much all of the countries in Europe. ARRI is set to be a major part of the show by providing multiple ALEXA 35 Live camera systems and partnering with Riedel Communications.\n\n### Multi-Matrix Color Correction and Other Updates\n\n\n\n\nPerhaps the most notable part of these updates is that ALEXA 35 Live cameras are now equipped with multi-matrix color correction capabilities, which promise to go beyond basic color correction and let users adjust individual color hues without affecting other colors in the scene.\n\nFor live, multi-camera environments, this should help enable more precise color matching across different camera channels and meet the specific demands of multi-location shoots. ARRI has also announced that there have been some adjustments to the ALEXA 35 Live’s exposure index (EI) setting, which now makes it possible from a Remote Control Panel.\n\nARRI shooters will also now be able to switch the camera and RCP displays between EI values in ASA/ISO or gain values in dB, which should be helpful for working in these diverse broadcast environments.\n\n### Find Out More\n\n\n\n\nOverall, while likely news that was set to go out before the acquisition, it’s at least nice to see ARRI still operating as usual despite this major shakeup. We’ll keep you posted on any further announcements from the company regarding major changes in direction or the launch of new products.\n\nFor these updates for the ALEXA 35 SUP 6.0 and LPS-1 SUP 1.3, you can find more info on how to download and install on the company’s website here.\n\n****\n\nCheck out more of our NAB 2026 coverage!",
