As we’ve seen with many DJI drones and other products announced over the past few months, there’s been a lot of confusion about whether these drones and devices will be available for purchase by drone enthusiasts and content professionals in the United States.

And while that confusion will likely not be going away any time soon, as the DJI drone ban still appears to (mostly) be in effect, it does sound like one DJI drone will be getting launched in the US here soon.

The DJI Avata 360 appears to be ready to take flight here in the US. Here’s what you need to know about this 360-degree drone and its 8K60 HDR sensor and capabilities.

DJI Avata 360 Takes Flight

Announced at the end of last month, there was obviously some confusion about where the drone would be available. According to reports, that confusion is clearing up a bit as the Avata 360 should indeed be available in the US here soon.

Designed to be a nice double-down move for 360-degree video, the DJI Avata 360 offers the unique ability to seamlessly switch between a single-lens 4K60 sensor and a full 360° 8K60 HDR sensor. The result is the ability to capture 360° footage, allowing the flyer to turn one flight into a complete creation as the Avata 360 records everything around it.

Similar to other 360-degree drones we’ve seen (like the new DJI competitor Antigravity A1), this type of 360-degree recording allows users to cut multiple clips with different viewpoints and opens the possibility of re-framing their main shot from a different angle.
