DZOFILM’s New 1.5X Anamorphic Lenses Are Here With Waterfall Bokeh and Color-Shifting Flares

It must be lens season, because we have another set of cinematic anamorphic lenses just announced. Designed to deliver an iconic cinematic anamorphic look combined with pro image quality, DZOFILM has introduced its new Arcana 1.5X Anamorphic T2.1 Full-Frame Lens series, which is set to feature a 2x anamorphic look and deliver high optical quality.

DZOFILM Arcana 1.5X Anamorphic T2.1 Full-Frame Lenses

We do love new lenses, and this new series from DZOFILM should deliver an innovative 1.5x hybrid anamorphic design with classic 2x waterfall bokeh and color-shifting horizontal streaking flares. The lenses will each feature 3 ED ultra-low dispersion, 4 high-refractive, and 4 cylindrical lenses, helping ensure sharp clarity, edge detail, and low chromatic aberration, with full-frame coverage and a consistent T2.1 aperture for professional film-grade aesthetics.

The series is set to include 32mm, 45mm, and 75mm options, with each lens weighing only 690–710g (≈700g) and measuring a compact 80mm, ideal for handheld, gimbal, and Ronin 4D use. The lenses will also provide a uniform 80mm front diameter, supporting 77mm filters across the Arcana series, making them ideal for consistent weight and avoiding repeated gimbal balancing, streamlining the workflow.

What’s cool about these new lenses, too, is that they will also feature a unique front cylindrical lens design that helps maintain a constant squeeze ratio from close focus to infinity. This will effectively help suppress face widening and reduce the need for post-production correction.
