"textContent": "\n\n\n\nNestled in a corner store on Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas, just a block up from the Paramount Theatre, where many of the SXSW 2026 films premiered, and in front of a giant Rivian dirt course laid out in front of the Texas Capitol, Nikon reps were inviting SXSWers in to try out their latest cameras and gear.\n\nOne of the main cameras Nikon was showcasing was the ZR, the popular cinema camera that offers some nice RED-infused technology and features while still keeping a pretty affordable price tag, all things considered.\n\nIf you were or are interested in the Nikon ZR, you might want to check out the news of this latest firmware update, which doesn’t add any major new features, but does provide some nice fixes and improvements worth checking out.\n\n* * *\n\n### Nikon ZR Firmware Update\n\n\n\n\nWith firmware update version 1.11, Nikon isn’t reinventing the camera by any means. The ZR is still very much the same camera it was before; it just operates a bit more smoothly and without a few issues that might have tripped up a few users.\n\nHere’s the full list of updates Nikon has made for the ZR:\n\n * Fixed an issue where the camera touch control would not respond as intended when [ON] was selected for [Touch controls] > [Glove mode] in the [SETUP MENU].\n * Fixed an issue where the set shutter speed changed when returning to S or M mode after switching to a user setting mode while [High-frequency flicker reduction] was enabled.\n\n\n\nAnd that’s pretty much it, the ZR will still allow you to use a variety of lenses, and internal stabilization provides a smooth, steady image with 15+ stops of dynamic range. And features will also still include 32-bit float audio, advanced autofocus, dual-base ISO, and up to 6K60 video capture in REDCODE, N-RAW, or ProRes RAW.\n\n### How to Download and Install\n\n\n\n\nAs is the case with all Nikon camera firmware updates, you can find more info on how to download, install, and keep your camera up to date by going to Nikon’s website here.\n\nIf you’re curious to check out the Nikon ZR in more detail, here are the full specs and purchase options.\n\n * Fusion of RED + Nikon Cinema Technology\n * 6K Full-Frame Z-Mount Cinema Camera\n * REDCODE RAW (R3D NE) + N-RAW Recording\n * ProRes RAW/HQ, H.265/H.264 Codecs\n * 32-Bit Float Audio, Dual-Base ISO\n * Bright, Folding 4\" DCI-P3 Display\n * Built-In 3D LUTs, Digital Accessory Shoe\n * Dual Built-In Microphones\n * 15+ Stops Advertised Dynamic Range\n * Frame.io Cloud Integration\n\n\n\n### Nikon ZR 6K Cinema Camera\n\n\n\n\nBy combining RED color science and Nikon engineering, the **Nikon ZR 6K Cinema Camera** is a first-of-its-kind powerhouse designed to capture stunning cinematic images in one compact body.",
