In a post shared on the company’s homepage, MotionVFX has announced its biggest edit yet… the company is joining Apple.

While Apple has not commented or posted anything official about this yet, this does sound like a done deal from the MotionVFX side, as the company has announced that it is “excited” to join the Apple team.

We have a lot of questions, as we’re sure you do too. Here’s what we know about the deal so far and the future for both companies.

MotionVFX to Join Apple

Launched as a brand over 15 years ago, MotionVFX has been a familiar name in the video editing and VFX world thanks to its popular plugins and visual effects tools. The company has been known for its cutting-edge software and knack for helpful design, having created automatic 3D and surface tracking tools, upscale features, and other motion design plugins.

Here’s a quote from MotionVFX on its own legacy:

For over 15 years, we’ve been on a mission to create world-class, visually inspiring content and effects for video editors. From the very beginning, we’ve been all about quality, ease of use, and great design. These are also the values that we admire most in Apple’s products, and we’re thrilled to be able to embrace them together.

What’s Next for the Brands?

As mentioned above, we don’t have official confirmation from Apple, so all of this info is coming from one side only. Still, from what we do know, it sounds like the entire MotionVFX team will be joining Apple and will likely bring over all of its tools, features, and know-how in the VFX and plugin space.

In the statement from MotionVFX’s website, the company thanks its customers and fans over the years:

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our amazing customers and supporters who have been with us through all these years. You inspired us, you challenged us, and you helped our products become what they are today. We are incredibly grateful to be part of this amazing community and excited to continue our work to serve you.

The biggest questions now are whether MotionVFX will still operate separately, at least for a time, or if everything will be transitioned directly into Apple’s applications like Final Cut Pro and the rest of the Apple Creator Studio, which was announced a few months ago.
