"textContent": "\n\n\n\nAmongst the many products debuted by Apple the other day, these two new display monitors might have been a bit buried underneath the more headline-grabbing updates to the _MacBook Pro_, _MacBook Air_, and _Apple’s latest chips_.\n\nHowever, make no mistake, if you’re looking for a new top-end monitor for your Mac computers, especially if you’re working in video editing, graphics, or color correcting, etc., then these new Apple Studio Display options are worth checking out.\n\nIn particular, Apple is billing its new Studio Display XDR as the new “world’s best pro display,” thanks to its extra-special specs. Here’s what you need to know.\n\n* * *\n\n### Apple Studio Display and Studio Display XDR\n\n\n\n\nSo, the biggest specs that both of these new models are going to share are the addition of a 12MP Center Stage camera, which will feature improved image quality and support for Desk View.\n\n> “Apple has led the industry in delivering the world’s most advanced displays for pros to do their life’s best work, and today we do that once again with the introduction of the new Studio Display family. Studio Display gets even better with a new 12MP Center Stage camera and powerful Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. And the Studio Display XDR is a huge leap forward for XDR technology, with a mini-LED backlight, 2000 nits of peak HDR brightness, advanced color accuracy, and a 120Hz refresh rate, transforming workflows like filmmaking, design and print, and 3D animation. It’s by far the world’s best pro display.” — John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering.\n\nBoth displays will also feature a studio-quality three-microphone array and an immersive six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio. They will also now include Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, which can further provide even more downstream connectivity for high-speed accessories or daisy-chaining displays.\n\n### Studio Display XDR\n\n\n\n\nHowever, the most exciting news here really all has to do with the all-new Studio Display XDR, which is set to offer an advanced mini-LED backlight with over 2,000 local dimming zones, up to 1000 nits of SDR brightness, and 2000 nits of peak HDR brightness.\n\nThe Studio Display XDR should be a nice option for pro video editors and colorists who might want to work with its wider color gamut, which should help content jump off the screen with greater contrast, vibrancy, and accuracy.\n\nPlus, with its 120Hz refresh rate, the Studio Display XDR will be even more responsive to content in motion, and Adaptive Sync dynamically adjusts frame rates for content like video playback or graphically intense games.\n\n### Price and Availability\n\n\n\n\nThe Apple Studio Display is set to retail for $1,599, and the Studio Display XDR will replace the old Pro Display XDR and retail for $3,299.\n\nBoth models will be in select Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers, starting Wednesday, March 11.",
