A Look at the ATOMOSphere: Atomos’s Cloud-Based Web Editor Focused on Storage
Let’s take a look at Atomos’ cloud-based web editor and see what it offers for your video workflows.
Dubbed the “ATOMOSphere,” this is an “all-in-one” cloud production ecosystem designed for filmmakers, videographers, and other hybrid creators looking to shoot, edit, and deliver content quickly.
It is also focused on adding new options for creators looking to upload, backup, share, and review footage from their SSDs. A fun new cloud-based web editing option that might be worth checking out.
A Look at the ATOMOSphere
Originally announced last April, the ATOMOSphere is a nice option for those looking for online storage that is optimized for high-resolution video, photo, and RAW files.
Built to be an “all-in-one” cloud production ecosystem, ATOMOSphere offers creators the ability to shoot, edit, and deliver quickly, as well as upload, backup, share, and review from your SSD—or to go straight from camera-to-cloud with one of Atomos’ monitor-recorders like the Ninja or Shogun from any HDMI source, any camera, or any format.
While perhaps not meant to be a direct competitor to Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve, the Atomosphere does offer some nice reliability as a way to make sure your footage is always accessible, yet also protected against hardware failures or outages.
Universal Compatibility
The other main selling point for the ATOMOSphere is that it's built for flexibility, as it allows users to upload from any device, with any workflow. Users don’t even need an Atomos product as they can use it with their favorite tools, whatever they may be.
“With ATOMOSphere, we’re connecting creatives across the globe — and we’re just getting started. We have built an open cloud platform that doesn’t lock you into one system or workflow. It doesn’t matter what camera you use, what format you shoot in, or which editing software you prefer — ATOMOSphere is designed to be open, flexible, and ready to fit into your unique workflow. Whether you’re a solo photographer, an independent filmmaker, or part of a large production or post-production team, our mission is to make it easy, efficient, and cost-effective to store, share, and collaborate on your content from anywhere in the world. And with deeper integrations coming soon, we’re excited to continue expanding what’s possible for creative professionals everywhere.” — Peter Barber, Atomos Chief Operating Officer.
The ATOMOSphere is also optimized for high-res video and photo files, supports RAW formats from major camera brands, and can be integrated with other top editing platforms, making it more of an add-on option rather than a replacement for your current favorite video editing workflows.
