Higgsfield AI Gets Its X Account Suspended as Backlash Against the Company Comes Out
One of the most popular “all-in-one” AI video platforms currently on the market is suddenly in hot water as the company has just had its X (Twitter) account suspended and is facing a huge wave of backlash from users.
Marketed as a one-stop solution for AI video creators (a model which, in theory, could work well for those actually interested in AI video generation), Higgsfield AI appears to have had its X account suspended for violating the platform’s TOS. The exact infraction is not known, but criticisms against the company are now coming to light.
Higgsfield AI Turmoil
Originally launched just a few years ago in 2023, Higgsfield AI had appeared to find a home in the AI creation space as an all-in-one AI platform that allowed users to use many of the top AI video models all at once and on one platform as a way to streamline AI video generation.
The model isn’t wholly unique and is similar to what Adobe is doing with its Firefly video editor, where users can choose from the latest versions of top models like Kling, Veo, and Sora. The promise to its creators is that users will not have to subscribe or pay for each model’s credits and can just run all of their money through the main platform.
Again, in theory, and if this is something an AI video creator (or AI slop generator, whatever you want to call it) would be interested in, this could be a helpful solution. However, posts from users online are beginning to paint a different picture.
Higgsfield AI X Account Suspension
The Higgsfield AI account on X (Twitter) has been suspended, with its page simply stating ”X suspends accounts which violate the X Rules.” We don’t have exact details on what transpired, but from posts online, there are many issues being reported that could have contributed to the suspension.
In a post from X user Noir, a detailed timeline of the complaints against Higgsfield has been outlined. And while several of these issues could (generously) be boiled down to growing too fast, too quickly, and making poor marketing decisions, a few of them are quite notable and might have contributed most to the suspension and backlash.
The Ethics of AI Video Platforms
Surprisingly, of all the issues listed, few also have to do with the ethics of AI or the training of the models at hand, although those don’t actually come from Higgsfield since the platform is simply allowing users to generate content from different models.
The biggest issues have to do with terms like “unlimited” plans that didn’t actually appear to be unlimited, and complaints from users who reported that they were actually paying more to pull generations on Higgsfield than if they had subscribed to all of the different models separately.
The other most egregious concerns come from accounts of the company sharing motion graphics and video clips online, which appear to have been created from notable stock platforms, as well as accusations of the company reusing their content from creators and presenting it as being the results of their own AI generations.
This is a pretty major shakeup in the AI industry and one that might have ramifications still to come. We’ll keep you up-to-date on this and other filmmaking and AI-adjacent news as it develops.
