The United States win Group D

The United States have officially clinched first place in Group D.

After their 2-0 win over Australia on Friday, Türkiye fell 1-0 to Paraguay, confirming the Americans' place as the first-place team in the group, even before their final group match on Thursday, June 25.

The USMNT's six points are their most-ever in a group stage, despite having only played two matches. Under head coach Mauricio Pochettino , they've won consecutive World Cup matches for the first time since 1930.

The USMNT will take on the third-place team from Group B, E, F, I, or J, on July 1 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
