  "textContent": "After breezing past Atlético Ottawa in Concacaf Champions Cup and opening their MLS account with a 4-1 win over New England, Nashville SC head to Texas to keep their season rolling with a match against FC Dallas.\n\nTo get the latest on Dallas, we chatted with Drew Epperley of _Big D Soccer_.\n\n\n\n__Serving up all the FC Dallas news, opinions and coverage all day long.__\n\n Check it out! \n\n* * *\n\n_**Ben Wright (SixOneFive Soccer):** 2025 was the first season for Dallas under **Eric Quill**. What was the experience like for the club, and what did you learn?_\n\n**Drew Epperley (Big D Soccer):** I’ve said a few times over the last few months that the first season under Eric Quill was a big learning experience, as he and his staff worked to lay a new foundation with this club. We went into last season with some decent expectations after the club went out and acquired **Lucho Acosta**. But as we quickly saw, that was a failed experiment on both sides.\n\nAcosta wasn’t willing to push the team forward on the field, and he caused a few headaches off the field. I give the club a lot of credit on making the move to get Acosta from FC Cincinnati, but also making the move to transfer him out in the summer when things clearly weren’t working.\n\nFollowing that, we learned that Quill was willing to completely shift gears by switching formations and style. FC Dallas was a 4-2-3-1 team with Acosta sitting underneath **Petar Musa** in the attack in the first half of the year, but once Acosta departed, Quill shifted to a 3-4-3 (or a 5-3-2 as I like to call it) that prioritized a bit more of a defensive structure. That move paid off in a big way.
