เกม The Witcher 3 ออกวางขายเมื่อปี 2015 ตอนนี้มีอายุ 11 ปีแล้ว แม้ เกมภาค 4 กำลังอยู่ระหว่างการพัฒนา แต่ CD Projekt Red ดูยังไม่พอใจแค่นั้น จึงเปิดตัวภาคเสริมใหม่ชื่อ Songs of the Past ตามมาอีก

ตอนนี้ยังไม่มีรายละเอียดของ Songs of the Past บอกแค่ว่าเป็นเส้นเรื่องของตัวเอก Geralt of Rivia เช่นเดิม (ต่างจากภาค 4 ที่ขยับเป็น Ciri ไปแทนแล้ว) เกมได้สตูดิโอ Fools Theory จากโปแลนด์บ้านเดียวกันมาร่วมพัฒนา มีกำหนดวางขายกว้างๆ คือปีหน้า 2027 บนแพลตฟอร์ม PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5
